We will begin our journey with the museum-estate of A.P. Hannibal "Suida" in the village of the same name, where once lived the great-grandfather of the famous poet Alexander Pushkin. Here the poet's mother was born and married, and his favorite nanny - Arina Rodionovna - visited. In the museum you can see about 1000 authentic pieces of Abram Petrovich Hannibal, from his library to silver teaspoons. Many things were also brought here by the descendants of the Pushkin family. So, in 1991 the great-grandson of Alexander Pushkin presented the museum with a lace towel, which once belonged to the great poet. Not far from the museum are the tomb of A.P. Hannibal and the green oak, which once wrote about in his poem Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.
And now we will go to the house where many people's favorite writer, poet and playwright Vladimir Nabokov once lived. Today the estate has an exposition devoted to the life of the owner of the estate, thanks to which you can get acquainted with the biography of the writer, about the years he spent in exile, about his work and hobbies. After the museum you can take a walk in the manor park, whose trees have been standing there for over 200 years. Walking a little further than the park, you can see small caves and springs beating from the rocks. Local people believe that water from one of the springs has healing properties! Here you can not only touch the history, but also enjoy a walk through the natural surroundings of the estate.
Today we will have lunch at the tavern "At Samson Vyrin's", which will not only delight you with delicious dishes, but also surprise you with its interior in traditional Russian style: a real Russian stove, wooden tables, benches, carved patterns of wood on the walls. The menu offers a large variety of dishes of Russian and European cuisine, which are prepared according to ancient recipes.
The next point of our route will be the estate of the Russian artist, archeologist and protector of the natural heritage of mankind N.K. Roerich, where he spent his childhood and youth. In the museum itself you will find an exhibition of artifacts that Roerich once found, as well as an exhibition dedicated to his work and family. The house consists of 8 exhibition halls, where you can get acquainted with his personal belongings, household items of that time, clothing, dishes and folk art of the XVII-XIX centuries. The museum has more than 11 thousand items related to the Roerich family, as well as 800 reproductions of paintings by the artist. In addition to the estate, there are also nine buildings built several centuries ago, a large park with unique views of trees, lakes and ponds, which the artist loved to capture on his paintings.
The last point of our cultural program will be a walk in Catherine Park. The territory of the park is divided into two parts: the Old Garden, which according to legend was founded by Peter the Great himself, and Landscape English Park, where there are many interesting objects - terraces, monuments, ponds. Here you can see many unique architectural structures, monuments, artificial reservoirs, as well as enjoy the evening scent of a blooming garden.
